(Note early 9AM start). Yeung will be going on a Jane's Walk today. If you would like to join him, meet outside of Old Mill Station before 9:00 AM. The walk is scheduled to begin at 9:00. Yeung will be doing the Humber River Traders, Settlers, Ravines and Nature walk.
See https://www.janeswalkfestivalto.com/sunday-may-4-2025/humber-river-history-nature for more information.
Free parking is available at Etienne Brule Park or Old Mill Parkette below Old Mill station.
Participants may decide to go to other walks after the first walk ends. Usually, these walks are slower and shorter than typical City Walks. The weather forecast is calling for a 75% chance of rain, so rain gear or an umbrella may be advisable.
There are no scheduled subway outages, but please check https://www.ttc.ca/service-advisories/subway-service#e=0 in case there are any changes.
We have introduced a 30-Day-Trial membership class which allows "guests" to participate in most activities over the span of a 1-month period, for a fee of $10.
If you have not registered for the walk, you may NOT join the walk.
If you have registered but can't attend, log in, click on "Already registered", then cancel.
For more information check the TBN website under PROGRAMS - FALL/WINTER - CITY WALKS (https://tbn.ca/programs/fallwinter/citywalks) for a description of the Winter Walk program. If you have any questions, email me at citywalks@tbn.ca.

Three route lengths (59 km, 86 km and 102 km) are available, all of which bring us through the historic Village of Unionville. Optional lunch stops include Jake's on Main for pub fare or continue to Enterprise Avenue, stopping at Aroma cafe on the south side just before Birchmount Road. A washroom stop should be possible at the gas station on the SW corner of Elgin Mills and Leslie (around km 17.5), as well as at the lunch stops.
The beginning and end portions of the two longer rides are the same. The longer ride is essentially a "loop" off the medium length ride. This means riders can choose during the ride to do a long or medium distance, if they wish. This means you should also bring cue sheets for all routes you think you might ride. Likewise, for GPS units, you should download all routes you think you might ride. The last 9 km on the short route (59km) take paved trails back to the start. The medium and long routes take all streets back. You can also decide at the start of the trail section whether you wish to take streets back or trails back; i.e, you can do the medium or long route and take all streets back OR you can do the long route and take paved trails back.
Meet at Finch Subway Station, "Finch" west parking lot on the north side of Hendon Ave, just west of Yonge St.
N.B. If you are travelling north on Yonge St, keep going past Finch Ave and turn left onto Hendon Ave. The parking lot is on the right near 18 Hendon Ave, North York.
Not a member, but you want to try this out? Sign up for our 30-Day-Trial membership and you can try out multiple TBN rides. See https://tbn.ca/join for details.
If you have not registered for the ride, you may NOT join the ride.

Vintage CC territory, with a bit of an Irish lilt to its name! This ride has 2 routes which head northwest from a new start location of Southfields Community Centre and into the Halton Hills. There are some hill climbs around the escarpment before lunch, but the return trip for all routes tends to be downhill back to Brampton. There are a number of venues for lunch in Erin - a bakery, supermarket, famous Baileys Ice Cream Stand - and public washrooms are available in town across from the plaza.
Optional après ride location to meet up - Butter and Cup Bakery adjacent to Southfields
Start: NB - new start location: Southfields Community Centre, 225 Dougall Ave., Caledon ON, L7C 3M7
Driving directions: Take Highway 410 north up to Brampton. Exit at Mayfield Road and turn LEFT onto Mayfield Rd. Continue on Mayfield Rd. to Kennedy Rd. N. at the lights; turn RIGHT onto Kennedy Rd. N. and follow to Dougall Ave., and turn RIGHT. Southfields Community Centre will be on your right. Park at the back of the building where washrooms should be open. The "apres ride" gathering place is the Butter and Cup Cafe, a short walk from the parking lot.
