There are two trips on the GO train: - Union Station to Aldershot - Kitchener to Union Station
Take the 8:47 train from Union Station to Aldershot. Arrive in Aldershot about 9:55 am. Begin bike ride from Aldershot South Parking lot after the train arrives. Have lunch at the Rockton Berry Farm. When we get to Cambridge the rest of the route is trails to Kitchener. Probably arrive at 5 pm. Have dinner at the Metro Restaurant on Victoria St. The Kitchener GO train leaves 8:48 pm & arrives back at Union Station at 10:30 pm.
An alternate suggestion for driving is: In the morning, park at Mimico or Long Branch and take the train to Aldershot. Then, back at Union Station at 10:30 pm take the train for Aldershot and get off where you parked. You need to check the train schedules to see what works for you.
Better yet if someone can drive you: have them drop you off at Aldershot and join you for dinner in Kitchener!
This is an 80 km, UrbanRoller-level ride. If you are uncertain whether this level is appropriate to you, click here and scroll down to Class = Urban Roller. If this is your skill level and it suits your expectations, then you should feel comfortable on this ride. N.B. Tourist-level riders are welcome as long as they are willing to stay with the group.
Cycling Start location: Aldershot GO stationDo not drive and park here. The GO train from Kitchener does not go to Aldershot; it goes to Union Station.
