Cyclon 2026 was a huge success, with 160 TBN members in attendance. As always, this annual weekend getaway catered to cyclists of all levels: Leisure Wheelers, Urban Rollers and Tourist riders. This was our first return to Brock University in St. Catherines in 13 years, and also back to where the event was first hosted in the 80's! This great location provided a welcome opportunity for exploring the picturesque routes in and around the Niagara Region. |
A special thanks to the dozens of TBN volunteers who made all of this possible. The weather was perfect on both Friday and Saturday, winding down with an excellent pizza/salad dinner on the first night and a series of restaurant reservations at nearby eateries of all types on Saturday. It was a great start to the trip, offering all a chance to get the lay of the land and meet some new friends. |

The weather on Sunday was, alas, a different story. All official rides were canceled due to the horrendous rain and a serious tornado threat (which, fortunately, did not materialize). Guests took the opportunity to attend plays at the Shaw Festival, go out to a movie, engage in some enjoyable card a board games, or have lunch in the neighbourhood and visit the Welland Canal Museum. |

The gala dinner on Sunday night was a great wrap-up to the weekend, with raffle prizes, socializing with old and new friends, and a delicious buffet.

Things were back to normal on Monday, with cooler temperatures and brilliant sunshine, allowing all one short ride and final goodbyes before heading home. Some of Monday’s rides were challenging, requiring detours around flooded routes and fallen trees. We wish the St. Catherines area well in its struggle for a speedy recovery, and we look forward to next year. |
