City Walk Planning Meeting

  • 27 Jul 2019
  • 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM
  • Monarch Tavern, 12 Clinton Street, Toronto

On Saturday, July 27, 2019, we will be holding our annual meeting to plan the 2019 Fall City Walk schedule, as well producing ideas for the 2020 Winter Walks.

Starting October 13, 2019, TBN will again be running a full program of City Walks. As we have done in the last few years, we will run 10 or 11 of our regular, pre-planned Sunday Fall City Walks, which will take us to near the end of December, and then follow it in January with a dozen or so of our informal Sunday Winter Walks, until the weather is nice enough to start biking again around the end of March.

If you would like to contribute some ideas, perhaps lead a walk or two, get together with some of your walking buddies, are curious about the City Walk program, or perhaps would just like to have a beverage or two, please join us on Saturday, July 27, 2019 at 2:00 PM at the Monarch Tavern for a planning meeting. We will be upstairs on the 2nd floor.

The Monarch Tavern is located at 12 Clinton Street, one block south of College St., on the corner of Clinton and Henderson St. To get there you can:

  • take the subway to Bathurst station and ride the streetcar south to College, then walk west to Clinton, and south to Henderson,
  • or take the 506 streetcar along College to Clinton, and walk south to Henderson,
  • or take the 505 streetcar along Dundas to Grace Street, walk north to Mansfield Ave, east to Clinton, and then north to Henderson

Note that there is currently a scheduled subway closure on Line 1 (Yonge Line) for this date, between Sheppard-Yonge and St Clair stations, in case that affects your travel time. However, before heading out, please check the TTC Scheduled Subway Closures site at https://www.ttc.ca/Service_Advisories/Subway_closures/index.jsp to see if this has changed. Also, check for other TTC bus or streetcar diversions at https://www.ttc.ca/Service_Advisories/Route_diversions/index.jsp.

If you not able to make it but are interested in having some input, please email me at citywalks@tbn.ca. If you are interested in leading a walk, please let me know what dates you would be interested in and which walks you would be interested in leading. Note that you must be a TBN member to lead a walk.

If you have any questions, feel free to contact me at citywalks@tbn.ca.
