Freedom Friday: Country near the city

  • 05 Jun 2020
  • 8:30 AM - 1:30 PM
  • Victoria Square Park (on Elgin Mills Road in Markham, just east of the 404)

Open our Freedom Friday season with a selection of rides open country just to the north (and east) of the Greater Toronto Area. You'll skirt picturesque Musselman Lake and head north from there. The longer rides offer the chance of refreshments at the popular Pheasant Run golf course, but you're on your own for the second half of the short route. Bring a snack and plenty of water.

Start point is at Victoria Square Park in Markham, just east of the 404 (on Elgin Mills Road). Exit the 404 at Elgin Mills Road and head east. The park is on your right hand side, just after the Prince Regent Street intersection. Distances: 61km, 71km, 80km, 97km.

(Note: The park's toilets usually open between 8 and 9am. Facilities are available at gas stations both east and west of the 404.)
