Meet at around 10:00 AM at the Chess House in High Park. It is located about 20m south of Bloor St, and about 100m west of High Park Ave. We will begin the walk at 10:10 sharp.
We will be walking about 10 Km, and will end up at St Clair West Station on the University Line. We did a similar walk about a year ago, but this will be an entirely different route. There are washrooms at the start, in Chess House, we will stop for a coffee/washroom break around the middle, and there will be washrooms and restaurants near the end where we can stop for lunch or a snack.
Along the way will see a new innovation in affordable housing, the Little Malta neighbourhood, some railroad history, and the former location of Mike the Baker's Bakery and Ice Cream shop. We will stop for coffee and washrooms at Caledonia Bakery and Pastry.
The route will be mostly sidewalks and paved multi-use paths, but there will be a couple of short stretches on grass or gravel pathways, so please wear shoes or boots appropriate for the weather.
The closest public transit to the start is High Park Station. There is a scheduled outage with no subway service between St George and St Andrew stations, but please check https://www.ttc.ca/service-advisories/subway-service#e=0 in case there are any changes.
