Sunday Urban Roller - Downsview
Please note: You must register to participate on the ride. Registration is free for TBN members. Non-members are welcome with the online payment of a $10 fee. If you cannot attend, please cancel your reservation by Saturday. Attendance will be checked at the start.
We are still under Covid-19 guidelines, so remember to bring and wear your mask in appropriate situations and maintain social distancing. Also, a helmet.
A medium length ride for mid-May. This one will take us up to the Humber trail, then along (mostly) quiet streets to Downsview Park, a large urban park that is a work in progress. Then up to York University to a nearby Tim Hortons for lunch. From there it's west on the Finch Hydro corridor trail. Then it's a long run south beside Hwy 400, but without the traffic. Back under the 401 and retrace our steps to the start.
Meet at Kings Mill Park for a 10 am start.
The parking lot at Brule is still closed for construction so we will be starting from the parking lot of Kings Mill Park, just back across the bridge over the Humber and on the south side. It's the first small lot on the right as you enter the park. There aren't as many parking spaces as at Brule, so you may want to consider parking on one of the nearby residential streets, or in the Old Mill pay parking lot ($2/hr.)
The Ride with GPS map for the route is linked below, as well as a simplified cue sheet. The RwGPS auto-generated cuesheet has not been checked, but the linked cue sheet has been optimised for Sunday Urban Rollers.
If a ride is cancelled due to weather or other circumstances a cancellation notice will be posted around 8 am on Sunday morning. Please check before leaving for the ride.
See you Sunday
