Welcome to our new Thursday City Walk program. Meet at about 10:00 AM at the Chess House in High Park. It is located about 20 m south of Bloor St, and about 100 m west of High Park Ave. We will begin the walk at 10:10 sharp.

We will first walk in a loop of approximately 4.5 Km and return to the start, then walk a second loop of approximately 3 Km and return to the start, covering a total of about 7.5 Km. The route will be through High Park and neighbourhoods outside of the park. Most of the route will be paved, but some will be unpaved paths in the park. Please wear shoes or boots might appropriate for these conditions and the weather.

There are several pay parking lots within about 1 Km from the start of the walk, there may be street parking available on nearby side streets, but the best choice may be to use the subway.

The closest public transit is High Park Station. There are currently no scheduled subway outages, but please check Subway service ( in case there are any changes.

Points of interest (more to be added later) and early exits along the way include:

  • 0.0 Km – Chess House (start of walk and washroom)
  • 4.6 Km – Chess House (early exit and washroom)
  • 8.9 Km – Chess House (end of walk and washroom)
