Meet north of Yonge and Lawrence, inside Lawrence Subway Station, just outside the fare gates at the north end of the station (Bedford Park Av. and Ranleigh Av. entrance), below grade level, at around 10:00 AM. (The south entrance of Lawrence Station is closed for construction). The walk will begin at 10:10 sharp.
TBN member Paul has invited us to have our coffee break at Bike Depot – Leaside, where he works. There is a nice café in the store and coffee (no snacks) will be available. We will be walking about 10 Km and will end up at Yonge and St Clair where we can stop for lunch or a snack.
There are no washrooms at the start, but we will walk to North Toronto Community Centre (3 Km or about ½ an hour away for a washroom break). A washroom is also available at Bike Depot – Leaside. At end of the walk there is a washroom at Deer Park Library (opens at 1:30 PM), as well as numerous restaurants.
The route will be entirely on sidewalks, so please wear shoes or boots appropriate for the weather.
Subway service on Line 2 between Victoria Park and Kennedy stations will be replaced by shuttle buses on Sunday, March 30, for planned track work, but please check https://www.ttc.ca/service-advisories/subway-service#e=0 in case there are any changes.
