Meet at about 10:00 PM in the Great Hall of Union Station (the train station, not the subway station). We are usually near the benches around the north-west corner of the hall but may be somewhere else nearby if there is construction work, etc. Just look for a group of people standing around. We will begin the walk at 10:10 sharp.

Terry and Joanne will lead us on a loop of about 7.2 KM around downtown, returning to Union Station. Some of the walk will be outside on city streets, and some of it will be inside on the underground PATH network. Things to see is artwork, murals, special set ups like musical stairs. There are skylight locations for natural light. Most of the bank tower concourse amenities will be closed. I noticed a plague that said Leslie Frost was the prime minister of Ontario.  We will stop for lunch at Bier Markt.

Points of Interest along the way include:

  • 0.0 Km - Union Station (start of walk, washrooms)
  • 2.0 km Musical stairs near Roy Thomson Hall
  • 4.4 Km - Eaton Centre (washrooms)
  • 5  km  2nd Floor Bridge to former Simpsons
  • 6.5 Km - Beir Markt (lunch stop)
  • 7.2 Km - Union Station (end of walk, washrooms, TTC subway)

The route is on RwGPS at https://ridewithgps.com/routes/53713031.

When this entry was last updated, there was a scheduled subway closure this weekend. Subway service on Line 2 between Jane and Ossington stations will be replaced by shuttle buses on both Saturday and Sunday. Please allow extra time if this affects your travel plans, and check https://www.ttc.ca/service-advisories/subway-service#e=0 in case there are any changes.

We have introduced a 30-Day-Trial membership class which allows "guests" to participate in most activities over the span of a 1-month period, for a fee of $10.
