Sunday Urban Roller - Cathedraltown
Please note: You must register to participate on the ride. Registration is free for TBN members. Non-members are welcome with the online payment of a $10 fee. If you cannot attend, please cancel your reservation by Saturday evening. Attendance will be checked at the start. If you register after 8 am on the day of the ride bring a copy of the confirmation email, either printed or electronic, to show to the ride leader.
We are still under Covid-19 guidelines, so remember to bring and wear your mask in appropriate situations and maintain social distancing. Also, a helmet.
NOTE: If you are planning on riding to the start from south of the 401, please note that the Don Valley bike trail is closed where it passes under the 401 due to highway construction. Your nearest alternatives are Leslie St or Don Mills Road, neither of which are recommended due to high traffic volumes and no bike infrastructure. If you take the subway, Fairview Mall is the eastern terminus of Line 4 (Sheppard subway).
A newer ride, courtesy of Tony Lau. We'll start from Don Mills station at Fairview Mall. Ride up north through downtown Markham, Unionville, Berczy Village and finally to the Cathedraltown area. See the Cathedral of Transfiguration. Lunch at a plaza with Harvey's and Starbucks, so it's a change from Tim Hortons. There are a few small changes to the route so make sure to use the latest RwGPS version linked below
Please meet for a 10 am departure at the Don Mills subway (Line 4) entrance, located in the south parking lot of Fairview Mall, northeast corner of Sheppard and Don Mills Road.
If the ride is cancelled due to weather or other reasons, notice of the cancellation will be posted on the website around 8 am Sunday. Please check before leaving for the ride.
