City Walk- Castle Frank to Chester

  • 21 Jan 2018
  • 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM
  • Castle Frank Station (near ticket booth)

As the weather is forecast to be above freezing, I thought this might be a good opportunity to walk through a couple of Toronto’s ravines.

Meet at 10 AM at Castle Frank, at street level, on the east side, near the ticket booth, for an 11 Km walk.

The planned route includes:

• Castle Frank Station (0.0 Km)

• Park Drive Reservation Ravine

• Vale of Avoca

• Tim Hortons (4.0 Km, coffee/ bathroom break, access to subway (St Clair subway station))

• Moore Park Ravine

• Don Valley Brickworks (8.0 Km, bathroom break)

• Restaurant on Danforth (possibly Kalyvia)

• Pape Station (11 Km)

There is no separate short route, and the only easy exit to transit is near Tim Hortons at 4.0 Km.

This walk will include some hills, as we will be walking down Milkman’s Lane, and then north through and out of the Vale of Avoca. The route includes sections that are not paved, and based on the expected weather are likely to be wet or muddy, so light hiking shoes or boots would be appropriate.

This is an official TBN event. Non-members are welcome to join us. They will not be charged the non-member fee, but will be asked to sign the waiver form.
