City Walk- King Street Transit Pilot

  • 14 Jan 2018
  • 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM
  • Ossington subway Station (street level)

Join us for a walk that will include the section of King Street between Bathurst and Jarvis that has been blocked to through traffic for the Transit Pilot Project.

Meet at 10 AM at Ossington subway station, on the west side of Ossington, north of Bloor, at street level, at the front of the station near the fare booth, for a 10 Km walk.

The planned route includes:

  • 1.9 Km - Caldense Bakery (coffee/bathroom break)
  • 3.3 Km - King & Strachan (access to King streetcars)
  • 5.1 Km - King & University (early exit to subway)
  • 6.1 Km - bathroom break
  • 6.5 Km - King & Yonge (early exit to subway)
  • 7.0 Km - King & Jarvis
  • 8.4 Km - Salad King (lunch stop)
  • 10.0 Km - Yonge & Bloor

There is no separate short route, but it will be easy to drop out after we get to King Street (3.3 Km) by getting on a streetcar. King streetcars are less than 10 minutes apart. Also, we will cross the University and Yonge subway lines at 5.1 and 6.5 Km respectively.

The walk will be mostly on city streets, with a short section though Trinity Bellwoods Park, which I believe is paved, so footwear suitable for the weather conditions would be appropriate.

This is an official TBN event. Non-members are welcome to join us. They will not be charged the non-member fee, but will be asked to sign the waiver form.
