Registration

  • Estimating $30pp for campsites in two parks using two four-person/tent campsites. When park booking opens in February the trip leader will pre-book campsites, update the price on the event page, and let registrants know the price. The registrants will pay the trip leader by e-transfer between 3-5 days prior to the trip. Registrants can cancel without penalty up to this time.

A 340k loop from Harbour West GO in Hamilton, on rail trail, gravel and pavement. Suitable for gravel bike with 700x38-42 tires.

Camping at Haldimand Cons Area (111k), and at Scott's Campground (222k). When the campground booking sites open in February the trip leader will pre-book the campsites and share the cost (about $30pp) on this event page and to registrants.

  • May 16th Saturday to 18th Monday (May long weekend)

  • 3 days with 2 nights camping in campgrounds.

  • Cost TBC per person for campsites, to be paid by e-transfer to the trip leader between 3-5 days before the trip.

  • Distance 340 km.
    Elevation Gain 962 m, so reasonably flat.
    Unpaved ~127 km 37% (mostly rail trail).

  • Recommend a gravel bike, with 700x38mm or wider tires, for gravel rail trail and gravel roads.

  • Bikepacking/touring bags and camping gear (tent, sleeping bag, mattress, etc).

  • At the start/finish, at West Harbour GO Station, the parking is free.  

May 16 Saturday.
  • 0 km. 8am Start at West Harbour GO Station. Free parking.

  • 49 km. Food options: Tim Horton's, McDonalds and Sobeys.

  • 95.7 km. Short detour off route to No Frills and several restaurants for food/dinner.     

  • 118.7 km. Haldimand Conservation Area. Campsites pre-booked by the trip leader.  

May 17 Sunday.
  • 118.7 km. Depart Haldimand Conservation Area.

  • 139.6 km. Detour north 2k for food. See POIs for Three Seasons Ice Cream Parlour & Family Restaurant and Batch Baking.

  • 164.4 km. Sunny Side Up! Breakfast. Food Basics. Others.  

  • 199.7 km. Sophia's Sweets & Cafe.

  • 230.7 km. Niagara Falls KOA. Campsites pre-booked by the trip leader. Several restaurants close by including Boston Pizza.    

May 18 Monday.
  • 230.7 km. Depart Niagara Falls KOA.

  • 231.6 km. Scoops Restaurant for breakfast.

  • Optional Winery stops along this section.

  • 284.6 km. Campden General Store & Comfort Home Cafe for lunch.

  • 321.3 km. Harveys for snack.

  • 340.1 km. Finish at Hutch's Harbour Front for dinner. Very close to West Harbour GO Station and parked cars.
