Click here to register for Tourist C.

Note: you can always choose to ride with a different level at the start of the event.

NOTE:  As of Thurs morning (Sept 7), I have made a reservation for 8 people on the patio at 12:30, but will adjust the reservation number up or down the day before the ride. So ... if you've registered for the ride and decide not to do the ride, please cancel your registration. Routine Sunday Tourist riders agree that this is the top lunch stop in the lot, in a class of its own.

DESCRIPTION

The idea here is to log another ride of 100+ km because of the tremendous benefits of long-distance cycling on the body's immune system (T cells in particular, as explained here). However, a large part of this ride will be the dining experience at Revalee Brunch Cafe, for which I have made a reservation for 8 on the outdoor patio for 12:30 PM (with the reservation number reduced or, if possible and if necessary, increased the day before the ride). Everyone who has been on this ride agrees that the food at Revalee is superlative!

Meet on the south side of the Burlington GO station. The 8:44 AM Lakeshore West train from Union Station (8:52 AM from Exhibition GO) arrives in Burlington at 9:44 AM, hence the 10:00 AM start, which gives us 2 hours 30 minutes to ride the 54.5 km to the lunch stop - 22 km/hr average speed, including traffic stops and one big hill (not everyone need arrive at 12:30).

Speaking of which , we will make a short, rather steep ascent to the top of the Niagara escarpment on Dewitt Ave (walking your bike here, if necessary, is OK). Then, we have a relatively flat ride among vineyards, occasionally dipping slightly into forested valleys as we head to Revalee Brunch Cafe in Vineland. The return trip is largely along the lakeshore.

We are accepting "guest rider" registrations for this event. Guest registrations are $10 payable via PayPal.

If you have not registered for the ride, you may NOT  join the ride.
