TTC note: If you are planning on taking the subway to the start at Finch please note that there are reduced speed zones on both Lines 1 and 2. Please allow a bit of extra time to get to the start.
Revised route note: The route has been revised as of Friday morning. please download the updated RwGPS map. The revision eliminates a problematic section along the King-Vaughan line that was only two lanes wide with 70-80 km/hr traffic and a loose gravel shoulder. It also eliminates some hills, but not all of them. It also takes us through a much nicer section of Richmond Hill, more in keeping with the Urban Roller rides. (Friday Aug 2nd, 10 am)
For those of us not at Cyclon we have this TBN Urban Roller ride. We will head north to enjoy the gently rolling hills around the Richmond Hill area. As you'll see, it's called Richmond Hill for a reason. We will see a lot of different types of suburbia, but also some of the older and prettier sections. Then it's a long ride down Keele that is mostly downhill, a reward of sorts for the earlier stuff.
Lunch is at Tim Hortons a bit past the halfway point . You may still wish to bring your own lunch and snacks to avoid lineups and contact.
Meet for a 10 am departure from the commuter parking lot of the Finch TTC station, located on Hendon Avenue, on the west side of Yonge Street, one block north of Finch Avenue West.
If the ride is cancelled due to weather or for other reasons, notice of the cancellation will be posted on the website around 8 am Sunday. Please check before leaving for the ride.
