Jokers Hill is a property managed as a research area by the University of Toronto and that coupled with the trails at Thornton Bales Conservation area make it a great place to go hiking.  There are lots of elevation changes which make the trails both interesting and challenging and it is relatively close to the city although as with most other places parking can be a challenge.
