Further, Faster, Stronger: Improve Your Cycling Skills & Group Riding Techniques

Get the Low-Down on how to ride in a group. Learn how, when, and where to shift and gain confidence in road cycling in a Small Group  (Limit 10 max).

Target:  Intermediate ability + and aspiring to Long Tourist/Sportif

A part of being able to improve in cycling is to be confident in working your bike and keeping the focus on riding stronger.

Reading the terrain and relating the work to your fitness level and ability is the key to maintaining your speed on the bike and keeping up in a group ride.

You don't have to be the same level of fitness as the entire group. You can get by most of the time by applying proper techniques, shifting and maintaining a steady cadence (pedaling speed). Riding in a group reduces a rider's workload by 30%.

Daniel Yang from The Beaches Cycling Club will lead this session
which will cover:

- Safe Group Start/Stops
- Gearing/Shifting...What's the Right Time?
- Cadence (What is right?)
- Bike Handling...Tips and Tricks
- Hills
- Standing in Group...Techniques and what is involved
- Echelon Rotation
- Sprinting
- Riding the Rollers
