Sunday Urban Roller - Etobicoke Creek and the Humber River
Please note: You must register to participate on the ride. Registration is free for TBN members. Non-members are welcome with the online payment of a $10 fee. If you cannot attend, please cancel your reservation by Saturday. Attendance will be checked at the start. Attendance will be checked at the start. We are still under Covid-19 guidelines, so remember to bring and wear your mask in appropriate situations and maintain social distancing. Also, a helmet.
Traffic Note: A few things to consider if you are driving or riding to the start. The Indy has closed Lakeshore at the CNE. Traffic might be heavier on the Gardiner as a result. The Big on Bloor festival has closed Bloor to cars between Dufferin and Lansdowne. You can probably get through on a bike though if you ride slowly. If not, there is a lane just north of Bloor that runs parallel from Dufferin to a block before Lansdowne. In all cases, leave a bit of extra time to get to Kipling station.
For this (new last year) ride we will be heading up the Etobicoke Creek trail, which has reopened after years of construction on the 401, across the top through Malton, then return down the Humber River trail.
Lunch is at Tim Hortons near the halfway point . You may still wish to bring your own lunch and snacks to avoid lineups and contact.
Meet for a 10 am departure from the north parking lot of the Kipling TTC station. If you are driving to the start, please note that the lot can now only be accessed from Dundas St. It can no longer be accessed from Aukland Rd.
If the ride is cancelled due to weather or other reasons, notice of the cancellation will be posted on the website around 8 am Sunday. Please check before leaving for the ride.
