Sunday Urban Roller - The BIG Loop (9 am start) (Bloor St closure)

  • 21 Jul 2019
  • 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM
  • Etienne Brule Park

The BIG Loop

New this Year: Guest riders (non-members) will need to register and pay the $5 fee online before the ride. Just follow this link to the registration page. Please bring the confirmation email to the start to show to the leader, either in printed form or on your phone.

NOTE: If you are riding to the start from the east end, please note that Bloor Street will be closed for a street festival from Dufferin to Lansdowne. If you ride slowly and considerately you can usually get get through on your bike, but allow a little extra time to get to the start.

We'll go up the Humber Trail, across the top of the city and down the Don River paths to return along the Lakeshore. Lunch at Tim Hortons. A longer ride than usual to help get you in shape for Cyclon.

New: If the weather is too hot or rain is forecast for later in the day, a shorter (54 km) ride may be offered. It connects the lower Humber Trail with the Belt Line. Same principle, shorter distance. See the "Not so big loop" map link below for the route. No cue sheet for this one.

Just a note: In the past this ride typically finished at 5 pm so we're starting it an hour earlier than our usual 10 am start time. This ride is considered to be Advanced Urban Roller level, and is not recommended as a first ride of the season or if you haven't been on the bike much this year. Not recommended for Leisure Wheelers.

Meet in the parking lot of Etienne Brule Park for a 9:00 a.m. departure. Etienne Brule Park is located at the junction of Old Mill Road and Old Mill Drive (around the corner and down the hill from the Old Mill subway station).

Please print a copy of the cue sheet (both pages!) provided from the link below. Please note that the Ride with GPS cue sheet directions have not been edited and may not be accurate, but the linked cue sheet has been checked and was created specifically for Urban Rollers.

Remember to bring your TBN membership card and helmet.
