Meet at about 10:00 AM at the Toronto Public Library - Runnymede Branch, 2178 Bloor Street West, near Runnymede Subway Station, about 100 m east of Bloor and Runnymede. We will begin the walk at 10:10 sharp.

If the weather is good enough, we will do the originally planned walk of approximately 8 Km, in a loop, though the neighbourhoods north of Bloor, and return to the starting point. We will see a few points of interest along the way. The route will be on city streets and paved pathways.

If the weather is as bad as forecast (heavy snow, 35 Km/h winds from the east, gusts exceeding 50 Km/h) we may follow an alternate storm route, westward from the start to keep the wind at our backs, with potential exits at the following subway stations:

  • 2 Km - Old Mill Station
  • 4 Km - Royal York Station
  • 6 Km - Islington Station
  • 8 Km - Kipling Station

No scheduled subway outages have been posted yet, but please check https://www.ttc.ca/service-advisories/Service-Changes in case there are any changes.

Points of interest (for the original planned route) and early exits along the way include:

  • 0.0 Km – Runnymede Library (start of walk, washrooms)
  • 3.6 Km – Jane/Dundas Library (washroom, exit to TTC Buses, 10 minute service)
  • 4.7 Km - Malta Bake Shop (take-out coffee and snack)
  • 7.6 Km – Runnymede Library (end of walk, washrooms)

The route is available on Ride with GPS at https://ridewithgps.com/routes/41599831. (Alternate storm route is https://ridewithgps.com/routes/41605377).
