Another 100+ km ride (with the tremendous benefits of long-distance cycling on the body's immune system, T cells in particular, as explained here).
This ride will be run at Tourist B (24-28 kph) and Tourist C (20-24 kph) levels. For details concerning these Sunday Tourist rides, please click here.

Note: you can always choose to ride with a different level at the start of the event.
This ride is on a Saturday because the restaurant that is half the reason for this route is closed on Sundays.
Another 100+ km ride (with the tremendous benefits of long-distance cycling on the body's immune system, T cells in particular, as explained here). Much of the ride is on a rail trail (consisting a tightly packed fine gravel and paved in places), which will be no problem for those with 700 x 30 or wider tires, and might be considered acceptable with 700 x 25 tires, depending on your preferences. We bypass a section of the rail trail with coarse gravel. The photo below shows how well packed the rail trail is along most of the portions where it is not paved.
Note: there is a 1-2% climb at the beginning of the rail trail, which means a 1-2% descent at the end. I recommend not exceeding 25 kph and paying great attention during the descent, as there can be patches of softer gravel or transverse ruts that are dangerous at higher speeds.
Lunch will be at The Healthy Rabbit, which has a covered outdoor patio [at the time of this posting, I don't know if it is possible to reserve seating]. The food here is excellent, the aroma of fresh spices absolutely enticing, and almost everything is vegan!
The 8:44 train from Union Station (8:52 from Exhibition station) is the first train of the day and arrives at Hamilton West Harbour GO station at 10:05, hence the 10:15 start. If you arrive by train, take the elevator at the north end of the platform (toward the end of the train) to street level (at Bay Street), where we will meet. For those arriving by car, there is a parking garage next to the railway station. Note that there are two GO stations in Hamilton, so be sure to come to the Hamilton West Harbour station if driving.
Start location: Bay St Elevator west of the station entrance. Meet at the top at street level on Bay St.
Drivers park in West Harbour GO parking lot and make your way to the Bay St Elevator. Drivers take the Parking entrance at 353 James St across the street from the historic Canadian National Railways building.
