Everyone agreed that the food on this ride was first rate when it was held for the first time earlier in the year, so it is well worth repeating!
The idea here is to log another ride of 100+ km because of the tremendous benefits of long-distance cycling on the body's immune system (T cells in particular, as explained here). However, a large part of this ride will be the dining experience at Revalee Brunch Cafe, for which I have made a reservation for 10 on the outdoor patio for 12:30 PM (with the reservation number reduced or, if possible and if necessary, increased the day before the ride).
Meet on the south side of the Burlington GO station. The 8:51 AM express train from Union Station (8:59 AM from Exhibition GO) arrives in Burlington at 9:34, hence the 9:45 departure, which gives us 2 hours 45 minutes to ride the 54.5 km to the lunch stop - 22 km/hr average speed, including traffic stops and one big hill.
Speaking of which , we will make a short, rather steep ascent to the top of the Niagara escarpment on Dewitt Ave (walking your bike here, if necessary, is OK). Then, we have a relatively flat ride among vineyards, occasionally dipping slightly into forested valleys as we head to Revalee Brunch Cafe in Vineland. The return trip is largely along the lakeshore.
We are accepting "guest rider" registrations for this event. Guest registrations are $10 payable via PayPal.
