Sunday Urban Roller - Waterfront to Whitby

Please note: You must register to participate on the ride. Registration is free for TBN members. Non-members can now purchase a 30 day trial membership for $10 here and then can register for the ride. If you cannot attend, please cancel your reservation by Saturday. Attendance will be checked at the start. If you register after 8 am on the day of the ride bring a copy of the confirmation email, either printed or electronic, to show to the ride leader.

We are still under Covid-19 guidelines, so remember to bring and wear your mask in appropriate situations and maintain social distancing. Also, a helmet.

GO Note:  If you are planning on taking the Lakeshore East GO train to the start there are two trains that will work with our scheduled 10 am departure from Rouge Hill GO. The first leaves Union station at 8:50, Danforth 9:02 Scarborough 9:08, arriving at 9:24. The second, Union 9:20, Danforth 9:32, Scarborough 9:38, arriving at 9:54. For additional information visit gotransit.com. You might also want to consider getting the $10 GO weekend pass which offers travel for a weekend day on the system. This saves almost $6 on a non-Presto round trip from Union station. Only available online, on smartphones. More details HERE The station is also served by the Lawrence East 54A TTC bus.

TTC note: The Line 1 Yonge subway will be closed all weekend between Eglinton and Finch stations. Also, the Line 2 Bloor Danforth subway will be closed at its eastern end between Warden and Kennedy.

Updated map:  The RwGPS map has been updated to reflect the reopening of the Waterfront Trail at Pickering Beach. It now has a separate sections for bikes and pedestrians, a much needed improvement.


For this ride we will be heading east, along the lesser seen eastern parts of the Waterfront Trail. The route is scenic and mostly runs alongside Lake Ontario. 

Lunch is at Tim Hortons, with a few other options in the same plaza. You may still wish to bring your own lunch and snacks to avoid lineups and contact.

Meet for a 10 am departure from the parking lot of the Rouge Hill GO station, located 1/2 km east of the intersection of Lawrence Ave E and Port Union Rd. Parking is free.

If the ride is cancelled due to weather or other reasons, notice of the cancellation will be posted on the website around 8 am Sunday. Please check befor leaving for the ride.
