Sunday Urban Roller - Waterfront to Whitby
Please note: You must register to participate on the ride. Under the Phase 3 Provincial guidelines we are permitted up to 100 participants, as unlikely as that seems. Registration is allowed until Saturday midnight.
We are accepting "guest rider" registrations for this event. Guest registrations are $10 payable via PayPal.
We are still under Covid-19 guidelines, so remember to bring and wear your mask in appropriate situations and maintain social distancing. Also, hand sanitizer
NOTE: If you are driving to the start from downtown, please note that the Don Valley Parkway is closed this weekend for maintenance. Allow extra time to get to the start.
For this ride we will be heading east, along the lesser seen parts of the Waterfront Trail. The route is scenic and mostly runs alongside Lake Ontario. There are a few minor changes this year to take advantage of improvements to the trail and roads.
Lunch is at Tim Hortons, with a few other options in the same plaza. You may still wish to bring your own lunch and snacks to avoid lineups and contact.
Meet for a 10 am departure from the parking lot ot the Rouge Hill GO station, located 1/2 km east of the intersection of Lawrence Ave E and Port Union Rd.
If you are using the GO train to get to Rouge Hill, the last train that will get you there in time departs Union Station at 9:05 and Danforth at 9:16, arriving at 9:38.
If the ride is cancelled due to weather or other reasons, notice of the cancellation will be posted on the website around 8 am Sunday.
The Ride with GPS map for the route is linked below, as well as a simplified cue sheet. The linked cue sheet has been optimised for Sunday Urban Rollers.
