Unionville 2019

New this Year: Guest riders (non-members) will need to register online before the ride. Registration is free as part of Bike Month (June). Just follow this link to the registration page. Please bring the confirmation email you will receive to show to the leader, either in printed form or on your phone.

This is a new version of the Unionville ride that takes advantage of the newly extended Rouge Trail system in Markham. Some parts of this have never been used on TBN rides before. Sections of the route are alongside the upper Rouge River and are quite bucolic.

About 8 kms of the trail is gravel, but almost all of it is hard-packed limestone screenings (the small stuff) so should be navigable to most bikes.

The route shown is probably for this year only as it takes several detours to avoid construction and repaving on Pharmacy and McLevin Avenues. Also, the Rouge Trail is a work in progress, with some new sections that are just being finished. They may be open for the ride, but the map has been drawn assuming that they aren't.

As this ride is a one-off, there is no cue sheet available.

Meet for a 10 am departure from the parking lot of the Victoria Park subway staion, one block north of Danforth Avenue. Please remember to bring your TBN membership and a helmet.
