Sunday Urban Roller - Kingsway
Please note: You must register to participate on the ride. Registration is free for TBN members. Non-members are welcome with the online payment of a $10 fee. If you cannot attend, please cancel your reservation by Saturday. Attendance will be checked at the start.
We are still under Covid-19 guidelines, so remember to bring and wear your mask in appropriate situations and maintain social distancing. Also, a helmet.
TTC Note: The Line 1 subway (Yonge) will be closed between St. Clair and Davisville stations this weekend. Also, Line 2 (Bloor) will be closed Sunday morning between Broadview and St. George stations.
Driving Note: If you are coming from the east the small bridge over the Humber at Etienne Brule is closed to cars (okay for bikes) so you will need to use Old Mill Trail to get to the start point.
So. We're back. We missed all of you too. Here's a shorter ride to start everything off as some of you may not have been on the bike as much as you would have in winter with less snow.
Meet at Kings Mill Park for a 10 am start.
Due to damage caused by the ice jam on the Humber last month, our usual start point of Etienne Brule Park is closed, and will remain so for a while. We will be starting instead from the parking lot of Kings Mill Park, just back across the bridge over the Humber and on the south side of Old Mill Road. There aren't as many parking spaces as at Brule, so you may want to consider parking on one of the nearby residential streets, or in the Old Mill pay parking lot ($2/hr.)
We have a snack stop at a small Tim Hortons near Sherway Gardens, but you might want to bring a snack of your own.
There are some minor changes to the usual route due to construction.The Ride with GPS map for the route is linked below, as well as a simplified cue sheet. The RwGPS auto-generated cuesheet has not been checked, but the linked cue sheet has been optimised for Sunday Urban Rollers.
If a ride is cancelled due to weather or other circumstances a cancellation notice will be posted around 8 am on Sunday morning. Please check before leaving for the ride.
