Meet at 10:00 AM at the entrance to Christie TTC Station at street level.
This is one of the classic walks that Howard used to take us on. We will walk past an eccentric house, the leaning houses of Shaw Street, and other interesting sights, returning to Christie Station.
The walk is about 12 Km and is entirely on city streets, so shoes or boots suitable for the weather conditions would be appropriate. At the end we will find a place for lunch near Christie Station.
The route is available on Ride with GPS at: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/31120879
Early exits and bathrooms will be available at:
- 0.0 Km - Tim Hortons (coffee/bathroom)
- 3.0 Km - Wychwood Barns (bathrooms)
- 5.5 Km - Dupont Station (early exit to subway)
- 8.0 Km - Sid Smith Hall (bathrooms)

The TTC has recently added a scheduled subway closure for this weekend that may affect your plans to get to or from the walk. There will be no subway service on Line 1 between Lawrence and St Clair stations on Saturday, October 19 and Sunday, October 20, 2019 to accommodate Metrolinx construction on the Eglinton Crosstown Light Rail Transit. However, please check https://www.ttc.ca/Service_Advisories/Subway_closures/index.jsp in case there are any further changes.
Non-members are welcome. They will be asked to sign the waiver form and will be charged the $5 non-member fee, either on-line in advance (Register here) or via paper form at the walk start.
If you have trouble finding us at the start, please call my cell at 416-917-8866. If I don't answer, try again, as I may miss the first call.
