City Walk - Lawrence to The Quail

Meet at around 10:00 AM EDT in front of the Toronto Public Library - Locke Branch, at Yonge and Lawrence, south-east corner. This is just across the street from the south entrance of Lawrence Station (Yonge Line). We will begin the walk at 10:10 EDT sharp.

Please remember the change this weekend to Daylight Savings Time, and if you do not change the time, you will arrive at the start 1 hour late.

We will be walking about 10 Km, and we will end up at Rosedale Station (Yonge Line). We will stop at a few points of interest, have a couple of washroom breaks, go for coffee, and optionally stop for lunch near the end. The route will be mostly paved,, so please wear shoes or boots appropriate for the weather.

The closest public transit to the start is Lawrence Station. There are no scheduled subway outages, but please check https://www.ttc.ca/service-advisories/subway-service#e=0 in case there are any changes.

Points of interest and early exits along the way include:

  • 0.0 Km – Locke Library (start of walk)
  • 0.6 Km – Bedford Park Community Centre (washroom)
  • 2.7 KM Snider House 
  • 3.1 to 4.1 Km – coffee stops (numerous coffee shops on Yonge between Lytton and Eglinton)
  • 4.6 Km  North Toronto Memorial Community Centre (washroom), early exit to Eglinton Station
  • 5.8 Km – Monument to Upper Canada College Station 
  • 6.3 Km – Upper Canada College 
  • 7.4 Km – St Clair Ave (early exit to buses or 600 m walk to St Clair Station)
  • 7.7 Km  Brown Community Centre (washroom)
  • 9.9 Km – optional lunch stop at The Quail: A Firkin Pub
  • 10.2 Km Rosedale Station

If you have not registered for the walk, you may NOT join the walk.

If you have registered but can't attend, log in, click on "Already registered", then cancel.

REMINDER: A mask and hand sanitizer are required.
