Introducing a new-look TBN

We're proud to introduce a fresh, contemporary look for your favourite Toronto bicycle club, with a logo that we can all feel proud of. Visit the website for details of how the new look came about.

Win a new TBN jersey

We’re offering three design choices for TBN’s new jersey, and we're giving you, our members, the chance to choose. Please click here to vote for the winner. We’ll announce the results at the May 12th kickoff breakfast, where you will also have a chance to try on sample jerseys to be sure you get the right size. And just by voting you’ll have a chance to win a free TBN jersey or one of three $25 gift certificates.

Help with the picnic

We're seeking for volunteers to help at TBN's May 12 kickoff breakfast, which takes place at Etienne Brule Park, on the popular Humber River bike trail. Please email Susan Bishop at social@tbn.ca if you can help, perhaps with setting up or taking down the event, or helping people choose their jersey size. The breakfast is also the chance for would-be members to try a TBN ride at no cost. You may be lucky and win a prize! This event is free, but we ask you to register ahead of time so we know how much food to order.

Cyclon is coming

Circle August 3 to 6 in your calendar and join 180 TBNers at Cyclon, the club’s flagship annual event. Cyclon takes place this year at Wilfrid Laurier University residences in Waterloo and we expect to open registration in early May.

Sign up by June 11 for early bird pricing. But act fast. Cyclon consistently sells out the first year that we move to a new city.

New for May: member of the month

TBN is starting an experiment in May, aiming to recognize members who go above and beyond to make TBN cycling a good experience. To nominate someone, send a short email to memberofthemonth@tbn.ca with your name, the name of the member you’re nominating and what they did. The winner gets a $50 gift certificate and qualifies to be recognized as Member of the Year.

Friends ride free

Give your friends a free guest ride to introduce them to the club. Here's how to do it:

  • Spring kickoff on May12: Non members ride free, and if you bring a friend who is not a member, who will both have a chance to win a $25 gift certificate

  • Bike Month: All guests ride free for the first week of bike month -- between May 28 and June 3

  • Sign up for Chain of Events: When your friends sign up for our e-newsletter, their first guest ride is free.

Nine tips to get back on your bike

Check out the new cycle tips section on the TBN website, including nine tips from a professional cycling coach to improve your cycling this spring. If you have suggestions for additional articles or you read a tip that you disagree with, let us know at publicity@tbn.ca.

As always, check the TBN website for details of all the rides and other events that are coming up, and remember to check back a couple of hours before a ride in case it's changed or cancelled because of poor weather, or other factors beyond our control.

Remember to visit the TBN calendar of events to find out more about what's coming up. That little TTC logo below will help alert you to any subway closures.
