I plan on going for a walk to visit some of the Doors Open sites on Saturday, May 25. Feel free to join me if you like. I have not selected a meeting location yet, but I will send out another email later in the week and update the Forum entry with that information. We usually meet somewhere downtown, within easy walking distance of a number of sites.

I plan on doing the usual thing, which is to visit 4 to 6 sites, stop for lunch and/or coffee, and go home when we get tired. People are free to come and go from the group, and visit any sites they choose on their own.

Have a look at the list of buildings at the website below and let me know if there is anywhere you would particularly like to visit. However, please be aware that I do not intend to spend a lot of time waiting to get into a site, so I do not usually visit the very popular sites.

This is not a TBN event. Non-member are welcome and they will not be charged the $5 fee.

If you have any questions, feel free to contact me by email or phone. If you have trouble finding us at the start, please call me on my cell at 416-917-8866.

For our Doors Open Toronto 2019 unofficial walk, let's meet at 10:00 AM, Saturday, May 25, in the main lobby of Toronto City Hall at ground level, near the front doors. This location is fairly central and within easy walking distance of many sites. It also has bathrooms, as well as Doors Open handouts and other information.

Have a look at the website https://www.toronto.ca/explore-enjoy/festivals-events/doors-open-toronto/doors-open-buildings/?view=tabList and see if there are any buildings you would like to visit. We can plan a walk to see sites that most people will find interesting. Note that if you click on the building name it will now show you additional information (which was not working last week), including Building Description and Visitor Experience.

Some of the ones near City Hall that I thought might be interesting are:

    • University of Toronto – McLennan Physical Labs
    • University of Toronto – Art Museum at the University of Toronto
    • Jarvis Street Baptist Church (particularly from 1:00 to 3:00 pm when they will be having pipe organ and piano recitals)
    • Commerce Court North
    • Spinmaster - MetroCentre – King Tower

If you have any questions, feel free to contact me by email or phone. If you have trouble finding us at the start, or any time during the day, please call me on my cell at 416-917-8866.
