Attention Tourist riders!  The Sunday Tourist program is back again this season, continuing to offer some of the most challenging TBN rides.

Start locations will continue to be accessible to those with or without a car.  Kipling station will be revived as a “new again” starting location, adding to the Finch and Vaughan subway start locations.

New start locations, new routes, and new lunch stops will be added to existing popular routes in the Sunday Tourist program.  Short, medium, and long routes will available for many of the rides, accommodating a large range of cycling levels or preferences.

Come and meet your fellow Tourist riders, share the adventure of the rides, and socialize at the lunch stops where you can listen and debate the diverse perspectives of our club members on any number of conversational topics.

Anyone interested in leading Sunday Tourist rides is encouraged to contact Frank Piazza at tourist@tbn.ca

The Sunday Tourist category is for experienced riders cycling at a pace of 20 – 26 km/hr.   These rides are also often frequented by a small group of Sportif pace riders, cycling at speeds of 28-35 km/hr.   Rides will typically offer short (60-70 km) and long (80-120 km) route options.

Riders are expected to stay in a group and regroup at traffic lights before they hit the open road.  Riders are encouraged to continue their ride with a group of similar paced riders, but once on the open road, everyone is essentially on their own, at their own pace, and self-sufficient, being able to self-navigate (using GPS or cue sheet), fix their own minor mechanical issues (such as flat tires, dropped chains, etc), and carry a cell phone for emergencies.

All rides have a designated lunch spot, located on the ride map/cue sheet.  Routes are planned to allow riders on the short and long routes to end up at the lunch stop at approximately the same time or otherwise overlap their timing at the lunch stop.

If you are not a yet member, check out TBN's 30-Day-Trial membership, where, for $15, you can join and try out as many rides as you want during a 30 day period before committing to a full TBN membership.

Printed maps and cue sheets are not provided by the ride leader. You need to print the map/cue sheets on your own. We offer maps electronically in advance, via a link to the routes on Ride With GPS. PDFs are available for printing cue sheets. For those with GPS smart phone apps, or GPS bike computers, you will be able to download the route ahead of time. We recommend that you use the Ride With GPS app, as that will give you turn-by-turn directions.
