I’m looking for information on the origins of this ride....
-did any current members know David/what was his relationship to TBN?
-how did this ride get started? Why 100km? Were family members informed? Do they attend this ride?
Any and all info would be appreciated, thanks!
You should ask the coordinators Dinsmore ( firstname.lastname@example.org) & Sandra McCrossan, they made a city tour of 4 of the Ravine rides into a century,
There is a memorial to David Peebles on the TBN website.
I believe David himself had the idea for a Ravine Century while he was the coordinator of the Ravine Rides. He thought of combining the shorter rides that already made a sort of ring around Toronto. I'm afraid I can't remember when the ride was first done - several years ago, for sure.
I don't know of any members of his family that do the ride. However, most of us still remember him well, and it seemed appropriate to name his most ambitious ride after him.
