I have put together a plan for a 2 week cycle trip to Tuscany.
i have been there before and have competency in Written and spoken Italian.
I have worked out most of the logistics eg. Flight options and a base town in the centre. I am completing 10 routes from the base of Poggibonsi which is serviced by train and buses in the heart of Tuscany and provides excellent services including restaurants, bike stores, etc.
Poggibionsi is a town in Chianti.
Route Destinations will include Florence, Siena. Lucca, Pisa,Chianti noted towns and more.
Routes will be flat, rolling with minimal large hills and will be selected for maximum safety and beauty. Self guided and local guided rides are proposed. Routes are picturesque and have lovely panoramic views.
There will be numerous cultural options eg wine tasting, art museums, culinary classes, artisan crafts, history.
Tuscany is the home of Leonardo da Vinci and Andrea Boccelli to name a few.
There is excellent shopping available.
Accommodation will be simple and functional in either hotel with breakfast or agritourismo with vineyard olive gardens
I welcome input from anyone interested in this type of trip or who has cycled Tuscany.
