GO Note:  If you are planning on taking the Lakeshore East GO train to the start there are two trains that will work with our scheduled 10 am departure from Pickering GO. The first leaves Union station at 8:50, Danforth 9:02 Scarborough 9:08, arriving at 9:33. The second, Union 9:20, Danforth 9:32, Scarborough 9:38, arriving at 10:03. A bit tight but acceptable. For additional information visit gotransit.com. You might also want to consider getting the $10 GO weekend pass which offers travel for a weekend day on the system. This saves almost $6 on a non-Presto round trip from Union station. Only available online, on smartphones. More details HERE The station is also served by the Lawrence East 54A TTC bus.

NOTE: There is a significant change to the start point for this year's ride due to the long term closure of the pedestrian bridge over the Rouge River by Parks Canada for construction of a trail up the river to north of the 401. The entire Rouge Beach park is closed for construction staging. Starting at the usual Rouge Hill GO would require a major detour up to Kingston Road, which has fast traffic and no cycling infrastructure. It is NOT recommended to try to cycle to the start point form the east.

For this ride we will be heading east, along the lesser seen eastern parts of the Waterfront Trail. The route is scenic and mostly runs alongside Lake Ontario.

Lunch is at Tim Hortons, with a few other options in the same plaza. You may still wish to bring your own lunch and snacks to avoid lineups and contact.

Meet for a 10 am departure from the south parking lot of the Pickering GO station, located at the NE corner of Bayly St and Liverpool Rd. Parking is free.

If the ride is cancelled due to weather or other reasons, notice of the cancellation will be posted on the website around 8 am Sunday. Please check befor leaving for the ride.
