Take the train to Niagara Falls for this social bike excursion taking in the culture of the Niagara area. We will ride as a group and re-group during the ride. Scroll to the bottom to see the bike route. The Niagara Express leaves Union station at 8:51am, and arrives at Niagara Falls VIA station at 11:00am
Start location: Meet at the Niagara Falls VIA station, by the TAXI stand Start time: When the train arrives - scheduled for 11 am. Ride leader: Terry Walsh Route: Click here. To print a map, bring up the route, click on "More", then on "Print Map & Cue PDF". Ride Classification: Advanced Leisure Wheeler and up. The group will stay together and re-group often. Limit: 20 bikes. Space is limited on the train.
Registration is required. Only registrants will be allowed to join the ride.
We will take the GO Niagara Excursion train to the Niagara Falls VIA station. The train arrives at 11:00 am. Since it's about 20 km to the lunch stop at Walkers Market, we will have lunch around 1 pm. You can bring a lunch or purchase something at Walkers. We will visit a chocolate factory; and ride down country roads past wineries and vineyards. We will visit the Marynissen winery, and the Oast store after riding through Niagara-on-the-Lake. We will ride the Waterfront trail to St. Catharines, Port Dalhousie, and then to Frescos for dinner. The St. Catharines VIA station is less than 2 km away. Departure is at 7:30 pm.
Regular fares for the GO train, for example from St. Catharines to Union Satation, are $21.15 and $ 17.79. However, a GO Weekend Day Pass is only $10. If you use Presto, you can tap at the respective stations and don't need to stand in line to buy a ticket. The route trip for adults is $40 and $20 for Seniors, aged 65 or older. On the return trip, remember to tap off with your Presto card if you get off before Union Station.

If you are taking a westbound train to meet the Niagara Express at Union, it arrives at Union at 8:40 am. Terry is getting on at Oakville station, he will meet you on the train or at the Niagara VIA station. See you there.
No uphills, but wind may be a factor. Bring a jacket in case it rains.
