Come for a good Advanced Urban Roller style workout on the penultimate weekend of summer. This is a longer version of the popular Maple ride that goes an additional 30 km out into the countryside and visits charming Kleinburg. Encounter the biggest hills of the Urban Roller season to test the muscles you've been working on all summer. Definitely not recommended for Leisure Wheelers. Lunch at Tim Hortons.
Please note that the route has changed this year due to a construction closure on Teston Road between Kipling and Pine Valley. The good news is that you will only have to do the hill into Kleinburg once, and the revision cuts out the worst hills on Teston. Unfortunately, they are replaced by other hills on Kirby, but at least they're new (to you). The RwGPS map and cue sheet have been updated to show the new route.
Meet for a 10:00 am departure at the Finch Subway parking lot, NW corner of Yonge and Hendon Ave, one block north of Finch.
Please print a copy of the cue sheet provided from the link listed below. Please note that the Ride with GPS cue sheet directions have not been edited and may not be accurate, but the linked cue sheet has been checked.
Non-members are welcome to join the ride with a payment of five dollars and signing of the waiver form. All participants are required to wear a helmet.
