This tour crosses the Niagara Peninsula to Port Colborne, with a lunch stop at The Pie Guys Bakery and Cafe on West St, right beside the Welland Canal.
Bonus - it's Canal Days in Port Colborne! This is a Marine Heritage Festival, with lots going on.
Start location: Lincoln Community Centre, 4261 Central Ave, Beamsville.
If you are on the QEW coming from Toronto, don't take the first exit for Ontario St. It's the second Ontario St exit - the sign says Beamsville.
Ride leader: Dave Mader
Route: Across the Peninsula 116 km, 400 metres elevation.
At the start there is a 4 km climb, average grade 4% up onto the Beamsville Bench. Otherwise, it's pretty flat. Passes through Ball's Falls Conservation Area. Gets some elevation around Effingham. Path beside the Welland Canal. Takes O'Reilly's Bridge across the Welland River. Some trails. Some lovely quiet country roads.
