Meeting place:  at the parking lot of West gate at 12.30.

ACTIVITIES:

Cross-country Skiing
Fen Lake Ski Trail is located at the West Gate of the park.
 It offers four loops of 1.25, 5.2, 11.4 and 13 km and offers both easy and more challenging sections. All trails are groomed and track set and a 6 km section also offers a lane for skate skiing. A cabin is located at Fen Lake and privies are available throughout the trail network.

Minnesing Trail is located on the north side of Highway 60, 23 km from the West Gate. It has four loops ranging in distance from 4.7 to 23.4 km. The trail is maintained for backcountry wilderness skiing and is not groomed.

Leaf Lake Ski Trail offers a wide variety of trail selections ranging in length from 5 to 51 km and ranging from easy to very difficult. The system includes three loops that are groomed for skate skiing. All trails are groomed, and many are track set. Trail provides several and privies.

Snowshoeing
Snowshoeing enthusiasts can go virtually anywhere within the park except on cross-country ski trails. If you prefer a set trail, you might try one of the short walking trails along the Highway 60 corridor or one of the two longer backpacking trails (Western Uplands Trail and the Highland Trail).

Skating:
Part of the parking lot in the Mew Lake Campground is turned into a skating rink in the winter weather permitting.

Dogsledding
Dog sledding opportunities, offered by commercial operators, are available in two locations in the park - one along Highway 60 and one in the northwest section of the park accessible from the village for South River on Highway 11.

Fatbiking
Algonquin’s Old Railway Bike Trail is groomed approximately 12 km from Pog Lake to Cache Lake throughout the winter as a multi-recreation trail.  Algonquin Outfitters’ Huntsville location offers a range of fatbike makes and models for rental and sale. Mew Lake Campground offers the best access point.

Algonquin Visitor Centre

 is located at km 43.0 of Highway 60.  It has world class exhibits on the Park's natural and human history. Please check if it is opened before visiting  because of Covid restrictions.

Accommodations: you have to book on your own. Please if you find deals post it in the car pool for others to follow. Please consider several options.

Yurts in Algonquin Park

Blue Spruce Resort aa well as Wolf Den are good options, unfortunately they booked as of now but maybe would be cancellations.

Pace:       The one you choose

Terrain:     Moderate -  hilly and flat trails

Rentals:  not available in the park but available outside of the park, the closest is Algonquin Outfitters – Oxtongue Lake at 1035 Algonquin Outfitters Road Dwight, Ontario. Phone: 705-635-2243.

* We are accepting Non-Member registration.

* If you have not registered for the event, you may NOT join the ride.

Driving Directions:  

Follow ON-400 N and ON-11 to ON-60 E in Huntsville. Take the ON-60 exit from ON-11 1 hr 50 min (198 km)

Follow ON-60 E to your destination in Unorganized South Nipissing District  33 min (43.5 km)
