Win the morning, win the day!

This is a pilot project for leisure-wheeler paced riders interested in joining Relaxed Pace No-Drop Country Rides at some point and want to be prepared mentally and physically in climbing some hills.

There is no short cut: come out, gain the mileage, do the hard work, then join our No-Drop Country Ride with the confidence that you can do it!

Route Route Sunnybrook 2 hills x 2 + coffee @Edwards Garden

8AM: Ride starts at the Sunnybrook parking lot# 3 (down Leslie, turn left, past Wilket Creek trail entrance, turn left ).  Riders can rest at the parking lot at the top in the hospital's parking lot after reaching the first gentle hills before proceeding to the next steeper hill (also have parking lot for rest) and repeat the climbing effort within the area.  Alternatively riders can ride within the park for tempo training after finishing the 1st round of hill climbing.

9:15AM: Regroup at Entrance to Wilket Creek Trail and ride to Edwards Garden for coffee break at the cafe.

NOTE: These hills are shorter but steeper than Bayview Extension.  Road bikes are strongly recommended.  It is okay to walk if the hill climbs are too challenging.

**** Ride will be cancelled by 9pm the day before the event in case of unfavorable weather or insufficient participation.

RIDE LEADER:  ALICE CHAN (email: no-drop@tbn.ca)

 What is a No-Drop Rider?

  • Riders must be willing to make every effort to depart, ride, and return together as a group (no riding far ahead beyond 0.4km).  Strong riders must reduce their pace to accommodate slower riders within reason.
  • You have to be a team player to make our No Drop ride a success.

If you are uncertain whether this level is appropriate to your riding level, click here.

* Helmets are mandatory, bring spare inner tube for YOUR bike, check your bike in advance to ensure no mechanical issues, bring enough water to prepare for a slow long ride under the sun.
