Looking for a change of pace after a great summer of cycling yet still wanting to participate in a vigorous outdoor activity? Come along and join TBN on scenic walks of 10 - 20 kilometres, exploring Toronto's extensive network of parks and ravines. This year we have a total of nine of these urban ambles planned. This is a great opportunity to spend some time getting to know fellow TBNers even better while maintaining your fitness level in anticipation of the cross country ski season.
Some new routes are planned for 2009, taking advantage of public transit to reach more remote start points across the GTA. Also, look forward to the City Walks End-of-Season Social on December 17 at the historical Monarch Tavern As with all club programs, new volunteers are welcome to step forward to lead individual walks and to assist in other ways, e.g. submitting ideas for new routes, après venues, points of interest to explore. For more information about the program or to volunteer, contact Marc Brousseau, City Walks Coordinator at citywalks@tbn.ca
For more specific information about starting locations, walk distances, recommended footwear and start times, check the web site in the days leading up to the walk or subscribe to the weekly TBN Chain of Events Mailing List.
