Welcome to the TBN 2009-2010 cross-country ski and snowshoe program. See the 2009-2010 schedule below. Time do to the snow dance, people!
Cross country skiing and snowshoeing are very healthy and fun recreational activities. TBN welcomes both novice and seasoned skiers so encourage your family, friends and acquaintances to ski with us. When available, we have a CANSI certified instructor who offers beginners a free one-hour lesson. As well, most of the ski centres we visit have ski instructors. You will need to contact the ski centre in advance to book your lesson.
Registration for each ski trip is done as follows:
- phone the nordic skiing and snowshoe hotline (416-760-4191, line 1)
- follow the instructions to reserve your spot on the bus
- get up-to-date information in case the schedule changes due to snow conditions
or register via emailing xcski@tbn.ca
On Sunday mornings, TBN picks up skiers starting at Victoria Park subway station and at three convenient locations along Yonge Street before merging onto the 401. Travel in a comfortable highway coach to ski country while you relax or chat with other TBNers. Then enjoy a rigorous and exhilarating day on the trails with about 40 to 50 other TBNers, which is not to say that we all ski together in one huge group. If you are a novice skier, please do not ski alone. After working up an appetite on the trails, buy your lunch at the resort or enjoy the packed lunch you brought from home. At 4:30 p.m. sharp, the bus heads back to Toronto. We will once again be using Coach Canada for our trips. They have 55 seat highway coaches, washroom equipped, DVD players, etc.
