The City is hosting a public meeting on Tuesday January 24th regarding a proposed trail through a portion of Bluffer's Park. If constructed the trail would help improve the connectivity of the exisitng Waterfront Trail, and would set the stage for other potential route improvements in Scarborough. However, a small, local group opposes the trail at Bluffer's Park and may well convince the ward councillor to scrap the project. If that happens, councillors in other wards may not have the appetite to support future trail improvements elsewhere. Consequently, strong support from the cycling community is needed at the public meeting. The meeting details are:
Tuesday January 24th, 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm, presentation at 7:00 pm
Blessed Cardinal Newman High School Auditorium
100 Brimley Road South (at Kingston Road)

Remember, Rob Ford supported off-road cycling trails in his election campaign, and it's time that City council made good on that commitment.
