We are offering an opportunity for cyclists and triathletes to train indoors during the off-season. The program will run from November 1st, 2011 until April 30th, 2012. The goal of this program is for athletes to come together and train in a group format to keep their workouts consistent and interesting. Strength sessions are targeted to increase muscular endurance, power and stability on the bike.
All classes will take place at CrossFit Colosseum – 222 Islington Avenue, Toronto, Ontario. It’s approximately 15 km from the downtown core and easily accessible via the Gardiner Expressway/QEW or TTC.
Athletes must bring their own trainers and we will provide a safe place to store the bikes and trainers for the duration of the program.
The program fee is $175 per month (plus HST). I will post more package options in the next few days. This includes 2 structured indoor group rides (1 short, 1 long) and 2 structured strength training sessions. Athletes are also welcome to come in for 1 additional session on their own during regular business hours to ride their trainers. All of these sessions are lead by qualified instructors and are aimed to help you increase your strength, endurance and power to prepare you for the outdoor season.
These are not your typical ‘spin’ classes. Each workout will target specific areas of cycling. Cadence, heart rate, and AT drills will all be incorporated. It’s highly beneficial to have a heart rate monitor and/or cadence sensor on your bike.
