Hi Everyone,
I just rode the East Don Parklands from Leslie below Steeles to Sheppard and behind the North York General hospital to Duncan Mills Rd. Behind the chiropractic college and under the rail pass immediately north of Sheppard there are sections of soft ice covering the path and same south of the 401 on the Betty Sutherland trail. It was passable on my mountain bike, ride slowly in a straight line and you won't fall. 15% of the whole trail is still wet in spots and there is gravel under the Cummer Ave overpass where there was construction. The embankment under the bridge was concaved inward last year and there were some portable barriers on the edge. The embankment is now properly shored up with large concrete blocks and the path about 50 meters need to be paved, don't know when that will happen. The portable barriers are off to one side and have to be picked up. I had to wipe off the bike after the ride, not taking the road bike out till all is dry hopefully soon.
