Hi all,

Got a question about Dura Ace 7900 Shifter, recently my bike was setup (by mechanics) with a brand new set of Dura Ace 7900 shifters, while I am doing a test ride, I find the shifter very difficult to shift (i.e. the shifter arm is very stiff and I need to use a lot force to change gear for both front and back gears.)

In the past, I use 105 Shifters, I find it is easy to shift and work flawlessly. I bring the bike back to the story and the manger said the Dura Ace shifter is like this, and he can't do anything about it. I am very disappointed with the response, since I spend the time doing research and money upgrading the bike, but the result is worse. Does anyone ride with Dura Ace shifter, or know how shifter work, please help or share your thoughts.

Thanks
Michael

Here are some questions that

Here are some questions that just beg to be asked ...

In all your time spent doing "research", did you actually "go" to a bike shop and actually "test" what you were looking to buy, namely the Dura Ace 7900 shifters before you dropped all that dough?

Have you gone to another bike shop to test what Dura Ace 7900 shifters feel like on another bike to see if the feel of your shifters is the same since you don't seem to trust the shop you bought them from?

If your 105 is working flawlessly and are easy to shift, why on earth would you go out and spend a ton of money to "upgrade" to Dura Ace?

Dura Ace is the best component group Shimano has to offer and is so superior to 105 I don't even like to mention them in the same sentence, let alone the same thought (I've used both so I have a reference point).

Why don't you just sell your D/A 7900 on eBay and go back to your old 105 which seems to be what you really want?
