Mt. Lemmon Arizona

I'm considering a trip to MT. Lemmon AZ, specifically, doing the climb from Tucson to the SW. Have any of you done this climb before? How tough was it? Was the altitude a factor? What's the best time of the year to go? Any information you could provide would be helpful.
