Hi All,
I have an old ccm exercise bike in my basement with solid plastic platform pedals. I have a Trek 520 and Schwinn full suspension both with Shimano M515 pedals and since I don't ride in the winter, I thought I would take the pedals off the mtb bike and put them on the exercise bike. Unfortunately the pedal thread on the exercise bike is 1/2 by 20 and the Shimano pedal thread has a 9/16 major diameter. Does anyone know where I can get a pair of clipless shimano M515 or 520 pedal with 1/2 by 20 thread?
Thanks,
Fred

Hey Fred,
Shimano didn't produce the PD-M515/520 in a 1/2" by 20 thread. You have some options, first get a 9/16" to 1/2" adapter, have a machine shop spin your current pedals down to 1/2" or tap your stationary crank to 9/16".
The adapters are probably the best option at around $50 but will increase the width of your pedals by about 1-1 1/2" - this could have an impact on your knees (YMMV).
Good luck.
